Phase Centre Calibration of the Galileo Satellite Navigation Antenna

Workshop 2017 - Francisco Gonzalez - Galileo spacecraft metadata relevant to precise orbit determination (POD), such as antenna phase centre centre offsets (PCOs), variations (PCVs) and centre of mass position are made public. The availability of ground calibrated antenna phase location and centre of mass location aligns the strategy used in receiver and transmitting antenna. This metadata renders possible to model precisely the phase centre location without correlations with other geodetic techniques, parameters or models. In particular the scale of the Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF) can benefit of such information. This work report about the process to derive the pre-launch anechoic chamber measurements and centre of mass location.
