GPS-based LEO orbit determination with carrier phase cycle slip fixing over long data gaps

Workshop 2017 - Grzegorz Michalak - A method for single-LEO phase cycle slip (CS) fixing over long data gaps is presented. In this method the number of ambiguities to be estimated is reduced significantly, leaving in an ideal case only one per LEO and GPS satellite at the beginning of the arc. The method is applied for simulated and real LEO data (GRACE-A/B, TerraSAR-X, TanDEM-X). Reduced-dynamic and kinematic LEO orbit determination is performed in the so-called two-step approach where the reference GPS orbits and clock offsets are kept fixed. The results are validated using Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) as well as GRACE K-Band range data and precise baselines generated for SAR applications.
