Analysis of tropospheric structure from multi-station PPP-analysis

Workshop 2017 - Franziska Kube - Space geodetic techniques such as GNSS or VLBI are delayed in the neutral atmosphere. The induced refractivity variations form a significant error source but also reveal information about the media through which the signal has travelled and thus can be used to enhance the modelling of neutrospheric refraction. In order to study especially the temporal and spatial properties of micro-scale meteorological phenomena, we analysed 1Hz high-rate GPS-PPP post-fit carrier phase residuals and Zenith Wet Delays from various GPS stations at the Geodetic Observatory Wettzell. Next to the temporal characteristics of turbulence, which can be studied by means of structure function, the spatial and spatio-temporal structure was addressed by means of geostatistical tools, such as kriging interpolation.
