Workshop 2017

GNSS Data Availability of the Sentinels Satellites

July 4, 2017 • 575 Views

Workshop 2017 - Jaime Fernandez - The Copernicus POD Service, in charge of generating precise orbital products of the Sentinel-1, -2 and -3 missions, is presented in terms of operations and orbital accuracy achieved by the different orbit products of the different missions. These missions are all equipped with dual frequency high precision GPS receivers and additionally S-3 is equipped with a LRR and a DORIS receiver. The main quality control of the GPS-derived CPOD orbits is done by validating them with independent orbit solutions provided by the Copernicus POD Quality Working Group (QWG), and a weighted orbit combination similar to that computed in the IGS Community. The cross-comparison with the QWG orbit solutions (including the combined solution) is shown with particular focus on the use of different IGS products.
