Your privacy is important to the International GNSS Service (IGS).  This policy explains what data we may collect from you and how we may use, store, and transfer your information.

We may make changes to this statement. If we do, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on the IGS website so that you will always know what information we collect and how it might be used. This Privacy Policy was last modified in May 2022.

 

How the IGS collects information

When you visit The IGS’s website, we may collect information, such as IP address, domain information, browser information, and any information you may voluntarily share with us, such as email address, physical address, and phone number. We may also use website tracking software, such as Google Analytics, to track website usage patterns.

Unless clearly stated otherwise, any personal information you share is with the IGS alone.

 

What Information the IGS collects about you

When you interact with the IGS by signing up to receive emails through the mailing list, become an associate member, use the site log manager, or attend our workshops, the IGS collects personal information about you. This personal information may include name, physical address, email address, and phone number.

 

How the IGS uses personal information

The IGS uses the information we collect about you to be able to inform you about important announcements, events, and other relevant news; provide you with information that you have requested; conduct surveys; or otherwise communicate relevant information about IGS projects, data, services, events, and other updates.

The accuracy of your individual information is important to the IGS. You can update or delete your personal information by contacting privacy@igs.org with your full name, what information you would like updated or deleted, and where this information is located.

If you subscribe to an IGS mailing list, you may elect to receive individual messages or a digest summary of messages. You may also change your subscription options or unsubscribe from IGS mailing lists by visiting the IGS mailing list page and clicking on the individual mailing list name.

Requests to unsubscribe may not take effect immediately.

 

Protecting personally identifiable information

The IGS uses safeguards to ensure that your personal information is secure.  Once we have received your information, we will use appropriate procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorized access. We limit access to personal information and ensure that your information is only accessible by appropriately trained staff.

Our online forms are always encrypted to ensure security.

 

Requesting removal of content from IGS online resources

You have a right to your privacy. We would like to assure that we address your privacy concerns. To do so we also allow the ability to remove specific content by contacting privacy@igs.org with your full name, what information you would like updated or deleted, and where this information is located to address your privacy concern.

 

EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

You may have provided your consent to allow us to use your data in a certain way, such as signing up to receive emails from the IGS, participating in a survey or vote, or other information request. You may at any time withdraw your consent by contacting privacy@igs.org with your full name and your request to withdraw your consent. . You may request the removal of any content containing your personal information by contacting privacy@igs.org with your full name, what information you would like updated or deleted, and where this information is located.

 

California Online Privacy Protection Act

As part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all users of our website may request changes to their information by contacting privacy@igs.org with your full name, what information you would like updated or deleted, and where this information is located.

You can file a complaint about how we process your personal information by contacting privacy@igs.org with your full name and details on your complaint.
